Breaking: NUC Approves 4 New Health Programmes at University of Offa – The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially approved the introduction of four new health-related programmes at the University of Offa (UNIOFFA), Kwara State, with implementation set to commence in the 2026/2027 academic session.

- Nursing Science
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Doctor of Physiotherapy
- Community Health
The institution disclosed that the approval was formally conveyed in a letter dated June 16, 2026, signed by the NUC Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar M. Girei.
According to a statement released by the university, the approval was granted following a successful resource verification exercise carried out by a delegation from the NUC in April 2026.

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, described the approval as a significant milestone and praised the university’s founder, governing council, management, staff, students, and other stakeholders for their invaluable contributions.
He emphasized that the achievement underscores the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, strict adherence to quality assurance standards, and sustained investment in both human capital and infrastructural development.
