Entrance Examination

The Entrance Examinations and Auditions will take place from Monday 31st August to Wednesday 2nd September, 2026

Written Examination (Music Theory & General Knowledge)
Date: Monday, 31st August 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

On-site Practical Audition & Aural Interview (for major instrument or voice, before a faculty/jury panel)
Date: Tuesday & Wednesday, 1st – 2nd September 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (daily)

Requirements

Applicants for the MUSON/MTNF Diploma course in music must have the following minimum academic requirements:

Academic Requirements

Applicants must possess any of the following:

• The General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with credit passes in at least five (5) subjects, including English Language;
  OR
• The Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with credit passes in at least five (5) subjects, including English Language.

The required five (5) credits must be obtained in no more than two (2) sittings prior to admission into the Diploma programme.

Music Theory Requirement

Applicants must hold a Grade 5 (or higher) certificate in Music Theory from the MUSON School of Music or any other recognized examining body approved by MUSON, such as the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) or Trinity College London.

Music Practical Requirement

Applicants must possess a Grade 5 (or higher) practical certificate from the MUSON School of Music or any other recognized examining body approved by MUSON, such as the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) or Trinity College London.

Application Proccess

Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted. Only applicants who meet the requirements will be shortlisted and notified by Wednesday, August 26, 2026, for further audition and interview.

Each applicant will be assigned an examination number, which grants access to the written examination, audition, and interview. Admission will be offered only to candidates who perform successfully across all stages of the selection process.

NOTE: Admission is strictly merit-based.
