Federal Government Announces CBT for Technical Colleges Entrance Exam – In a statement Isussed on Sunday by the ministry’s director of press and public relation Boriowo Folasade, the Federal Government says it has triumphantly conducted the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination for admission into Federal and State Technical Colleges. As part of the exercise, the Federal Ministry of Education piloted a Computer-Based Test under the coordination of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board.

According to the statement, the examination was successfully conducted nationwide, with centres such as Federal Technical College, Orozo, and Government Secondary School, Garki, Abuja, reporting a smooth exercise. Representing the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, the Director of Technology and Science Education, Mrs Patricia Ogungbemi, monitored the exercise and encouraged candidates to embrace technical and vocational education as a pathway to self-reliance, innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment.

She emphasized the opportunities open to graduates of technical colleges, noting their access to hands-on, industry-relevant training as well as government-backed programmes that support employment generation and economic development.
She added that a key aspect of the exercise was the pilot Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted after the traditional examination. According to her, the initiative was introduced to evaluate preparedness for the planned transition to a fully computer-based examination system in the future.
